I am 56. Played drums for a long time but bought a guitar 3 months ago. Spent a lot of time watching youtube videos on guitar instruction and guitar reviews. Stumbled across some guy (Don Ross) reviewing a guitar that I had an interest in. KAH-BAM!!!! Never seen anything like him. Love this music. I listen to it on the way to and from work everyday.

Don Ross is quite simply one of the finest fingerstyle guitarists on the planet. [He is the only artist to win the prestigious National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship--twice!] In the liner notes Ross says, "It has taken me all these years (more than 30) of trying to get inside the instrument to realize just how many different capabilities it has. I try to use the whole instrument, to make the guitar a small orchestra." Whether he applies this approach to upbeat material like "Klimbim" and "Tight Trite Night" or more reflective pieces like "Berkley Springs" and "With You in Mind," Ross's technique is impressive.

Don Ross is one of the greatest accoustic guitar players and composers living today. It would be astonishing enough that Don is so technically advanced a player. But, then you add his ability to compose accoustic guitar music that makes you laugh, gasp, dream, cry, dance....

Undoubtedly the finest player of some of the most intricate and abstract guitaring I have ever come across. I became an instant Don Ross fan after hearing him play on a hot Saturday afternoon in a park east of Toronto about 8 years ago. As a guitar-player myself, I had to talk with him about his influences and style after his show.

I’ve been playing on the guitar more than 20 years as a hobby. Recently I decided to put more time into the music and Don’s course helped me a lot. Even the course for beginners was really helpful for me. At least I am not scared to learn the music theory anymore. Thanks Don!

I’ve been playing the acoustic guitar for several years and Don Ross has always been one of my favourite artists. When I heard about the Don Ross Guitar Academy, it was a no-brainer to join! The academy is a great platform not only for guitar beginners. The video lessons are nicely done and with great attention to detail. Don teaches and explains everything clearly and at a good pace, so it’s super easy to follow along. He also started a private Facebook group for his academy students and hosts weekly Q&A sessions there. Don, with his lifelong experience of being a professional (touring) musician, guitarist and composer, is always happy to share his knowledge on guitars, playing, recording and other topics with his students. I really love being a part of this academy to improve my skills, get connected with other students who share the same passion, and learn from the master himself!
